These Lion knockers are made from solid brass and they are made the old fashioned way. We pour molten brass into highly detailed sand cast molds - and then grind and polish the pieces by hand. The stems are made from solid brass and hand-turned. The wall mount screws are solid steel - just like they were made a hundred years ago.
And look at that Lion face - that is a Regal Lion. This door knocker is made from solid brass (not plated). This door knocker measures 5 1/4 inches across and it is also available in a larger version. This knocker has a three-bolt rear mounting to secure this to your door. The Lost Wax casting process insures a high level of detail. The lost-wax casting process, sometimes known by the French name of cire perdue is an ancient practice that is still used for artwork today and it is used to preserve the fine details of the original door components. Mounting distance is 4 1/2 inches. This is available in Polished Brass, Antique Brass, Oil Rubbed Bronze, and Polished Chrome.
